The design and planning for this extensive course renovation began a few years ago and construction began in January 2023. Tripp Davis and Associates is the course architect and Fleetwood Services is the contractor. RCC greens superintendent Jon Snider and
the grounds staff have played a significant role in the construction process.
The sodding/sprigging has been completed and the last areas of the driving range are being sodded. The course could be ready for play as early as mid-November.
Some notes about the renovation:
Ridgewood shareholders voted to plant TifEagle Bermuda greens. The course previously had bentgrass greens since the early 1990's.
The tees and greens were sprigged and the fairways and range were sodded.
Fairways and tees are TifTuf Bermuda except for the tees on #10 and #17 which have more shade tolerant Zoysia.
The new greens have 12,000 s/f more overall green surface than the previous greens.
All greens were rebuilt and reshaped including the putting green
All bunkers were relocated and rebuilt.
The range has several target greens and new irrigation.
